Over the years I have variously been a teacher, organist, composer, software engineer, and visual artist; common to all these endeavors has been a creative spirit. As a visual artist I am constantly challenging myself to explore new approaches to technique and vision, to push the capabilities of the medium, and to investigate new materials. Recently I have been painting with encaustic as well as watercolor and oil, and also use wool to create three-dimensional works.
Since I tend to see landscapes when confronted with visual ambiguity, and have a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, it is no surprise that my paintings are usually about landscape, both real and imaginary, as well as abstractions based on natural patterns and forms, and that my three-dimensional work finds a similar inspiration.??
